Penny Racers Party: Turbo- Q Review

Penny Racers Party: Turbo- Q Speedway is game that promises a fun time but falls short on many levels. That’s not to say that the game is completely irredeemable, it’s just that the negatives of the game seem to out-way the positive. I’ll start off with the negatives and work my way to the positive aspects of the game to leave on a good note.

Secondly, the game itself is very short. You can easily beat the game in a few hours. On top of that, the majority of the courses that you race through are recycled in every stage. So you’re never really unlocking brand new courses you’re just unlocking a longer version of the courses you’ve already played through.

This leads me to an interesting and enjoyable aspect of the game. In every stage you not only have to win a few races but you have to play through certain mini games in order to advance. These mini games can be anything from guiding a ball with your Penny Racer from one end of the course to another within a certain time frame to bowling. The problem with the mini games is that it’s fairly easy to understand the trick behind them. The mini games end up being a quick and easy way to make money in order to upgrade your Penny Racer. This leads to another downside of the game. Once you understand how to make quick money it doesn’t take long before you have the best equipment on your racer and the actual races themselves stop posing any real challenge.

The fact that you can customize your Penny Racer is cool aspect of the game. You’ll be able to unlock new bodies and equipment as you progress. It’s a lot of fun being able to race through courses with a car that looks like a panda or a bowl of ramen. The problem with this is that certain items end up giving you a major increase in specs and you end up going with those instead.943439_20081008_screen002

Despite the problems with the game there’s still a definite audience for it. This game is perfect for the casual gamer who wants a fun racing game that won’t pose much of a challenge. It’s also perfect for the children you’re trying to mold into the next generation of gamers.-Jose Sagastume
