Many Indie games are usually browsed, but this one caught my eye. What can I say, I’m a sucker for anime pics. Well it turns out this game is a lot of fun. Kaiten Patissier is a NES style platformer on the 360. The main protagonist, Pipi(haha) is a fairy that makes very delicious treats for the townspeople that lifts their spirits. That is as far as the story goes really but it really doesn’t matter.
The backbone of the game is the gameplay. The stages look like the special ones in Sonic 1, but to move the platforms, you hold onto them and they move. You go to the stages collecting ingredients to make certain treats. Before you collect the last one, there is an optional secret item you can get. Get all ingredients and you make the snack and pass the level. That’s about it, as the stages progress switches and blocks toughen the gameplay.
The game seems to run on a similar engine, particularly from another indie game named GREEN ISLAND, but I recommend Kaiten over this, the sprites are bigger and the game is just fun.
Before you play I advise you change the language to English, but again, the story isn’t really anything big. There’s also a Gallery option were you can see the sprites and artwork of the game. Again, I recommend you check this indie game out, the trial is enough to immerse you in what the game is, and for a dollar, its well worth it.-Servbot
