Big Boss “Walks now for autism Speaks” Fundraiser

Hey Gang, it’s me– none other than Carlos Lopez over at Angrybananas.com.  I just wanted to let you guys know I’ll be walking for autism with my son who was diagnosed with autism 3 years ago.  You,the gaming community, can understand that games and other fun activities for children with autism helps out so much in development with social skills, hand eye coordination, and motor skills and so much more. The reason I’m asking for the community for help is that all us have met friends and/or connected with family members through video games, and for me and other parents that have been the biggest struggle with our children who are diagnosed with autism they hate socializing and for once fun activities like video games and board games helps them gain social skill through understanding how to wait a turn or talk to somebody face to face. My son Anthony is 5 years-old. A year ago my son started receiving treatment for autism by starting an all autism class. Things where looking great but then he started distancing himself more from us and wanted to be left alone and then I remembered something as a kid; I was super shy with people because I had really nothing to say to them, but when I played games with people, I was socializing and giving them tips and tricks on how to play and came to understand that just by having that as a bridge for me to start talking to them I was able to socialize more than ever with our without games. I introduced my son to my old GameBoy Advance with a copy of Super Mario Land 3. It took him a while to pick up with some frustrating moments, but as I played with him he learned patience and taking risks and for autism kids taking risk is out of there list of things to do.  I have seen a huge improvement in Anthony and other parents like myself are taking that step as well to connect with their kids. Unfortunately, some parents with  kids diagnosed with autism don’t have the luxury to send their children to an autism program or access to supplies. By making a donation, you help me help them, so click on the link below to help me walk for autism.
