In celebration for the launch of the new Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, Nintendo has issued a challenge that tasks children with creating and designing their own Kirby with a unique ability, limited only by the heights that their imagination can take them…and a template which can be found and downloaded here.
Starting now, children of all ages are invited to print out this template and begin designing a Kirby which incorporates their ideal super-ability, or if further inspiration is needed, they can simply head here first to take a quiz to discovery their true hidden ability. Nintendo and Scholastic will post select completed and submitted coloring sheets to a gallery on Nintendo’s website, and some will even be featured for a special unveiling at the Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA on October 27 to ” celebrate Nintendo’s sponsorship of an interactive Starlight Fun Center™ mobile entertainment unit”.
These Fun Centers (which include a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and a Wii with an assortment of games) offer a way to help ease the stress and worry that a young child might feel while they await surgery or any other treatment. Since 1992, more than 7,000 of these have been placed into hospitals all across North America with the help of Nintendo and Starlight. For more information or to find out how you can help the cause, you can visit their website.
