A large reason I never finished learning Japanese completely was my obssession with Derek Yu’s marvelous time sink, Spelunky, which I ended up installing on at least half of my college campus’ language lab computers, while I should have been studying. This makes me all the sadder that I don’t own a fancy white Microsoft joy machine with which to enjoy Spelunky’s HD unveiling; but that aside, lots of you probably can and you most certainly should experience this, because Spelunky has finally been dated for its XBLA release after a very long time in development. I’m sure it’ll garner as much praise as Super Meat Boy did a few years back, when it drops on July 4th. It’ll cost you about 1200 MS points, and will come complete with an all new 4-player co-op mode, new soundtrack, and a gorgeous new high-def facelift. If you just can’t wait to check it out, the classic PC (and Mac) version is available on spelunkyworld.com for the all american price of free! (that’s less than a colonial themed hooker!). Go check it out….for america!…
